Aeroflow Top Fuel Funny Car to make public debut at Willowbank Raceway, April 9th
After a successful testing program at Sydney Dragway the Aeroflow performance products nitro funny car team will make the first public outing at Willowbank raceways Super Thunder event on April` 9th in the Top Fuel Funny Car category. As part of the 400 Thunder Championship event the team will be putting on 3 exhibition runs alongside Adam Murrihy in the Nitro Freak funny car of Rod Bailey.
With many successful events with the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny car series the Top Fuel funny car category presents a new challenge for the Sydney based team. Testing has gone well for the team running into the 4second zone at over 500km/h over the quarter mile. However, driver Morice Mcmillin has no doubt about the huge task ahead. “These cars are a whole different beast, with an estimated 10,000 horsepower on hand and 0-500km/h in less than 5 seconds. It takes hundreds of things to go right in these cars to make a good pass but only one thing to go wrong for it to turn into a disaster. The key to these cars is not the guy behind the wheel it’s the team in the pits and honestly, it’s a spectacle just watching the boys work together getting this car apart and back together between rounds, its organized chaos but everyone knows their rolls”.
The team are looking forward to getting up to Willowbank raceway to stretch the legs of this Aeroflow Performance products monster. “Oh, we can’t wait” exclaimed an excited McMillin. “Covid has slowed down our ability to travel with the Outlaw Nitro funny cars so to make the trek up to Willowbank raceway with the new Top Fuel Funny Car has the boys pretty pumped. We have three rounds scheduled for Saturday afternoon/evening and for those lucky fans there on Friday we will also make a test hit on the Friday night, just to ensure we can put on the best possible show for the Queensland crowd on Saturday.”
Saturday 9th April – Qualifying Starts at approx 11.00am – 1.32pm, with Racing starting at approx 1.30pm. Main Show starts at approx 3.20pm.
